The Carolina Panthers released their first unofficial depth chart of the 2019 season ahead of their preseason opener against the Chicago Bears on Thursday night.
A few notes about the depth chart
- It’s unofficial. Teams are required by the league to publish these depth charts, and most of the time coaches just mail it in since it’s still early in the preseason and they don’t really know how they want to construct their team yet.
- The team is officially (or is it unofficially?) listed as a 3-4 defense. We’ve heard all offseason that the Panthers were going to run a ‘hybrid’ front, and it appears that it’s more of an actual change from a 4-3 to a 3-4 than a hybrid of the two.
