Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper believes former Baylor coach Matt Rhule is the right man for leading his franchise into the future. Granting the NFL rookie head coach a seven-year contract, made apparent the time frame for rebounding from back-to-back losing seasons would likely come down the road as opposed to right now.
General manager Marty Hurney was retained as Tepper orchestrated changes to the football operations portion of his team beginning last season. Parting ways with Ron Rivera, Tepper set in motion a series of events to reshape Carolina on the field. While a complete rebuild may not be underway (yet), there’s definitely going to be some remodeling before the 2020 season kicks off.
