The Carolina Panthers have been without their franchise quarterback since the start of Week 3 when Cam Newton re-injured his left foot in the Panthers’ Week 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Newton paid a visit to Dr. Robert Anderson on Friday to get another opinion on the status of his injury, and according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport surgery is not recommended at this time.
In the wake of his doctor’s visit this week, #Panthers QB Cam Newton is out at least the next several weeks, but no surgery was recommended.
