The Carolina Panthers are continuing to make off-season moves, and the one that occurred on Thursday May make many Carolina Panthers fans happy. According to tweets from Jordan Rodrigue of the Charlotte Observer, Panthers left tackle Matt Kalil has been released. As Rodrigue notes, this is a post-June 1 designation.
This will undoubtedly give the Panthers some salary cap relief. This saves the team about $5 million against the salary cap in 2019, and about $9 million against the salary cap in 2020.
Kalil played two seasons for the Carolina Panthers, and 2018 was marred by injuries.
