The Carolina Panthers gave a couple of veterans the day off Wednesday, while the rest of the team went through a light practice featuring a lot of installation periods for Sunday’s home game against Washington.
Defensive end Jared Allen and cornerback Charles Tillman, two of the three oldest players on the squad, had rest days, while defensive tackle Dwan Edwards – another 30-something – practiced in a limited capacity.
Edwards has missed four games since sustaining a high ankle sprain on a cut block at Seattle on Oct. 18.
“It would be nice to have Dwan back,” Panthers coach Ron Rivera said.
