The Carolina Panthers have activated safety Juston Burris from the reserve/injured list. Burris left three weeks ago after injuring his ribs against the Chicago Bears.
Undrafted free agent rookie Sam Franklin has been starting in Burris’ place and has come on strongly in the last couple of games. The Panthers will definitely improve with Burris back opposite Tre Boston, but they appear to have solid depth in Franklin for the future.
Burris, Boston, Franklin, and rookie Jeremy Chinn have the potential to be the deepest safety group the Panthers have fielded since Charles Godfrey and Sherrod Martin almost lived up to their own promise.
