Last offseason, the Carolina Panthers tried to go with youth at the safety position after deciding not to bring back Roman Harper. Instead they inserted Tre Boston into the starting lineup to pair with Kurt Coleman.
The results weren’t great and the team early in the season decided to add Michael Griffin. The addition of Griffin wasn’t a long term answer and with Griffin a free agent this was a point of emphasis.
Enter strong safety Mike Adams, who the team signed on the second day of free agency. The Panthers hope Adams can bring some stability to the position.
