The "snag" concept is one of the simplest, yet most effective passing concepts in all of football. It is a three man route combination that can be run out of any personnel package. As Smart Football’s Chris Brown notes, it can be used to attack almost any type of zone coverage because the play design forces the defense to account for three receivers with only two defenders:
