Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Vernon Butler has been issued a Class C citation by the Dallas Police Department following an alleged nightclub incident that took place last month, according to a report by WCCB Charlotte.
A Class C citation is the ‘lowest level of the crime’ and carries a maximum fine of $500 with no jail time involved, per the report from WCCB:
Dallas Police say a “Class C” assault is the lowest level of the crime and is generally described as “offensive contact.” Officials say a “Class C” citation is only punishable by a fine up to $500, does not result in jail time and do not stay on your record.
