Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is arguably the most criticized quarterback in the league. Even during a historic MVP season (2015), Newton drew the ire of fans from NFC South divisional rivals, those of other teams in the league and even some who consider themselves to root for the Panthers.
Since winning that fabled award, Newton suffered a torn rotator cuff in 2016 and underwent another procedure on his throwing shoulder after last year. Obviously injured over the course of a second half collapse for Carolina during 2018, Newton was ultimately shut down for the final two games of the season.
