Carolina Panthers general manager Marty Hurney made a series of moves throughout the offseason to reconstruct the pass rush. Adding versatile veteran Bruce Irvin, who can play both the end and linebacker positions, Carolina selected a similar type player with their first-round pick in the NFL Draft this past April.
Florida State standout Brian Burns joined the Panthers to help boost pressure on opposing quarterbacks, in addition to Christian Miller (Pick No. 115) and the late free agent signing of defensive tackle Gerald McCoy. Each of the moves appear to be solid additions that will improve Carolina up front but with training camp less than a week away, Burns has yet to sign his rookie contract.
