This time last year, the Panthers were considered one of the best teams in the NFC after coming off a 15-1 regular season. The fact that they were bringing back almost the entire starting offense and defense certainly helped this argument.
However, last year revealed weaknesses within the Panthers’ roster. They suffered a number of injuries along the offensive line which had a ripple effect through the rest of the unit. On the defensive side of the ball, they also suffered injuries to key players but saw a decrease in performance with their secondary as well.
It was clear that this offseason was a pivotal one for the Carolina Panthers and Dave Gettleman was aware of this.
