SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- If fumbling on the first carry of his first NFL playoff game had a lingering effect, Cameron Artis-Payne isn’t showing it.
“I had kind of forgotten about it until you just brought it up," the Carolina Panthers' second-year running back out of Auburn said on Tuesday. “Stuff happens. People fumble all the time.
“At the end of the day we recovered it, we won the game. So I didn’t really pay that any attention.”
The fumble occurred in the first quarter of Carolina’s 31-24 victory over defending NFC champion Seattle. Artis-Payne finished with only three carries for seven yards.
