Cam Newton named finalist for community service award

It is no secret that the mainstream media does not think too highly of Cam Newton. An award the quarterback was nominated for on Friday may make them think otherwise. Newton was named a finalist for the Alan Page Community Award. Newton joins four other finalists in consideration for the award.

The other finalists are Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller, Los Angeles Rams left tackle Andrew Whitworth, New York Jets offensive tackle Kevin Beachum, and Bengals defensive tackle Gino Atkins. All of the finalists have been recognized as the Community MVP during the season.
