Each season every NFL team nominates one candidate as their Walter Payton Man of the Year representative and in 2019, the Carolina Panthers nominated franchise quarterback Cam Newton for this honor. These players are not only recognized for their on the field efforts but also having an impact on the local communities where they live. Prior to this season, the group was always narrowed to a few finalist before the winner was announced at the NFL Honors ceremony prior to the Super Bowl.
This season all 32 players are being recognized for their impact but only one will take home the trophy on awards night.
