The Carolina Panthers invested a lot in the quarterback becoming a significant asset to the franchise this offseason. They gave the former first-round pick a three-year, $63 million deal that included a $15 million signing bonus and $33 million guaranteed to get him off the free-agent market in double-quick time.
This is not expected to be a season of contending for the Carolina Panthers.
