One of the most polarizing figures outside of the Carolina Panthers fan base is quarterback Cam Newton. Sometimes even Panthers fans can be found spouting negative comments about the franchise quarterback, but it doesn’t equal the feelings many have surrounding wide receiver Brenton Bersin.
Bersin has been a part of the Panthers franchise his entire career since graduating from Wofford College. Despite being signed originally as an undrafted free agent and waived during the 2012 preseason, the versatile wide receiver caught on after attending rookie minicamp prior to the 2013 season.
He has been released four times, participated as a practice squad member and most recently was signed to a one-year extension covering the upcoming season.
