Per the Charlotte Observer, David Tepper is switching the field at Bank of America Stadium from natural grass over to an artificial turf product. The move is a planned step in Tepper’s vision for the stadium site to be used for more than just American football.
Bank of America Stadium will be changing to a turf field, per the Panthers. The team has previously used a natural grass surface.
The change is due to the upcoming MLS season and magnitude of events at the stadium.— Alaina Getzenberg (@agetzenberg) April 28, 2021In addition to having to regularly replace natural grass due to the wear and tear of football and futbol games, grass also wears out more readily under the strain of other events, such as concerts.
