The Carolina Panthers selected Alex Armah in the sixth-round of the NFL Draft back in the spring. Initially expected to compete for a role similar to the one held by former fullback Mike Tolbert, Armah played multiple other positions for West Georgia.
On both offense and defense, Armah lined up at defensive end, linebacker, H-back and tight end for the Wolves before being drafted and slotted to play fullback for the Panthers. During camp Armah battled veteran Darrel Young before winning the position and being named to the initial 53-man roster.
However, when interim general manager Marty Hurney elected to fill depth at other positions Armah was waived and relegated to the practice squad after just 24-hours.
