10 things we saw Tuesday at Panthers’ closed-to-the-public practice in Charlotte

The Carolina Panthers were practicing in Charlotte on Tuesday morning before flying to Nashville later for two days of joint workouts with the Tennessee Titans ahead of Saturday’s exhibition game.

What we saw during practice:

u25aa Rookie receiver/running back Curtis Samuel had his cleats and helmet and went through individual drills, his first day back after missing almost all of training camp in Spartanburg with a hamstring injury. After the individual perios he stretched and worked with trainers.

u25aa Quarterback Cam Newton (shoulder soreness) and defensive end Julius Peppers both participated in team drills for the first time in a while.
