Carolina Panthers defensive end Jared Allen will make his first start with his new team after sitting out of last week's victory over Seattle with a pinched nerve in his back, according to the Charlotte Observer.
“He tried to maintain his conditioning. I don’t think the one week off is going to hurt him,” head coach Ron Rivera said. “He had a real good week of building it back up and today he just cut it loose. It was good to see.”
Rivera said he expects Allen to play around 30-35 snaps in the game.
Carolina acquired Allen in a trade with the Chicago Bears on Sept. 28 for a sixth-round pick.
