Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly injured his shoulder during Week 17 of the NFL regular season. While he didn't miss any time with the injury, he will need offseason surgery.
The Charlotte Observer reports Kuechly is set to have surgery to repair a partially torn labrum in his left shoulder. Kuechly isn't the only one with that injury, as defensive ends Mario Addison and Ryan Delaire also need surgery.
Kuechly was healthy enough to lead all players in postseason tackles and pick-sixes. He's the only player in NFL history to return interceptions for touchdowns in back-to-back playoff games.
The exact return date for Kuechly is unclear. He's expected to be ready for the start of training camp in July, but he might not be ready for mini-camp or OTAs.
