After a shaky first period for the Carolina Hurricanes, it was only a matter of time before the Detroit Red Wings finally cashed in, and they did. Twice.
But top prospect Nicolas Roy jumped all over a neutral zone turnover and was able to salvage the period for Carolina, giving the prospect team a 3-2 lead going into the second intermission.
