Down by one goal in the early stages of period number two, the Carolina Hurricanes scored the all-important second goal of the hockey game.

Justin Faulk let a long-range wrist shot go from the point, and it beat Michal Neuvirth over his shoulder to tie the hockey game at one goal apiece.

Ron Hainsey picked up his first scoring point of the season with a well-timed pass to Faulk. Jeff Skinner also factored in on the goal with his sixth assist of the year. Skinner is the first Canes player to reach ten scoring points.
