While the Canes didn’t get the result they wanted in the form of two points in the bank Monday night, the team did pick up a pretty big accomplishment in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars. The Canes picked up their 69th point of the season, which sends them to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the third consecutive season, a first in the Carolina chapter of franchise history.
Brind’Amour becomes the first head coach in team history to take the team to three straight playoff berths after captaining it to its lone Stanley Cup as a player in 2006.
