This isn’t something I say because I don’t love Haydn Fleury, this is just something that needs to be done from an organisational standpoint, and for Haydn. It is time to cut our losses with Fleury, who has been under-performing ever since he was drafted.
He scored his first NHL goal this season earlier against Anaheim, and he only has 13 points in 106 NHL games. Fleury has found himself mostly sitting in the press box for his NHL career. There was a single season where he edged out Klas Dahlbeck and played 67 games, but in both of the other seasons he has played in the NHL, he has played 20 and 19 games respectively.
