After news broke of Ryan Dzingel signing with the Carolina Hurricanes, my first thought was what does this mean for Justin Williams?
While Dzingel and Williams would not be battling each other for the same spot, this does point to the forward depth that the Hurricanes now possess (not including the aforementioned Williams and his pending decision on retirement versus returning).
As the title of this article indicates, this is a good problem to have, though there are a few questions regarding who falls where in the lineup. Dzingel’s addition is undoubtedly a coup for the Hurricanes as they nab the best remaining free agent who also happens to be very versatile.
