If losing two straight over the weekend was not bad enough, the Carolina Hurricanes may be without All-Star Andrei Svechnikov for the remainder of the season.
Saturday’s loss to the Las Vegas Golden Knights ended with no goals for the Canes and an apparent injury to Svechnikov.
It appeared to be day-to-day as Svechnikov was unable to make Sunday’s game against the New Jersey Devils. Both games over the weekend resulted in shutouts and the Devils became even with the Canes for the Metro Division lead.
Now reports are surfacing that Svechnikov is looking for a second opinion on his injury, which may be a torn ACL.
