When the Carolina Hurricanes traded for Canucks goalie Eddie Lack back on June 27, many expected him to not only be the team’s future in goal, but also a candidate to steal the starting job from long-time backstop Cam Ward.
The optimism is seemingly gone now. Just 2 starts into his career as a Hurricane, Lack has allowed 7 goals on 42 shots. He was pulled under 30 minutes into Saturday’s 5-2 loss in San Jose after allowing 4 goals on just 13 shots.
It is still incredibly early for this young, talented goalie and the rest of the team, but is his rough start a red flag or area of concern for the Carolina Hurricanes?
