The Carolina Hurricanes have been chasing an outdoor game at Carter-Finley Stadium for years, and relentlessly in the two years since Tom Dundon became majority owner of the club. At long last, it seems that the Canes are going to catch the white whale, and the ranks of teams to never participate in an NHL outdoor game will drop by at least one next season.
Greg Wyshynski of ESPN reports that the NHL later today is expected to award a Stadium Series game to the Hurricanes for next season. The announcement is expected in conjunction with today’s Stadium Series game at the U.
