The Carolina Hurricanes have re-signed a crucial member of their bottom six. Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports that the Canes and forward Brock McGinn have come to an agreement on a new deal and have avoided arbitration. The contract is for two years and will pay McGinn $1.9 million in the first year and $2.3 million in year two. McGinn will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the deal.

The Hurricanes and McGinn were set to go to arbitration before the deal was announced after the Hurricanes tendered a qualifying offer to McGinn but hadn’t come to terms on a new deal.
