Penguins 4, Hurricanes 2

The Carolina Hurricanes jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but it was not enough as the Pittsburgh Penguins eventually took over the game and defeated the Canes, 4-2 on Thursday night at the Consol Energy Center.

The Penguins racked up a total of 48 shots on goal in the game and kept goalie Eddie Lack busy as he made 44 saves in the losing effort.

The Canes powerplay unit didn't help in this game as they went 0-5 overall.

Phillip Di Giuseppe hopefully started a new point streak when he scored an unassisted goal just 42 seconds into the game.
