Goaltender, Pyotr Kochetkov, continued his outstanding play and was a huge factor in helping the Carolina Hurricanes earn a point as they lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins, 2-1 in a shootout on Thursday night in Pittsburgh.
Kochetkov did everything but stand on his head for the Canes and only allowed Sidney Crosby to score. Crosby scored in the first period to give the Pens a 1-0 lead, then scored the game-winning goal in the shootout for the home team.
Teuvo Teravainen tied the game in the second and that would be the only time the Canes could beat Pens’ goalie, former Cane, Alex Nedeljkovic.
