Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon has fulfilled another promise: Hartford Whalers merchandise is available to Canes fans at the team store at PNC Arena.
Dundon, unlike former owner Peter Karmanos, said he would embrace the past of the franchise, and the team’s years in Hartford before the move to North Carolina in 1997. On sale Thursday at The Eye were gray T-shirts with the Hartford Whalers’ iconic logo.
Jennifer Miller was the first to make a purchase Thursday.
“I just like the retro look of it and the history of where it came from,” Miller said.
