The Carolina Hurricanes could not find their “A” game in Edmonton as they fell 6-1 to the Oilers on Wednesday night.
Just 28 seconds into the game they fell behind 1-0 when Jaccob Slavin whiffed on the puck behind the net. Warren Foegele did not whiff and found Ryan McLeod all alone in front of the net who scored easily on Pyotr Kochetkov.
Thirteen seconds later the Oilers scored again to make it 2-0 and the Canes had to be deflated less than a minute into the game.
At about the five minute mark, Zach Hyman would score the first of his three goals for the night to make it 3-0 and Brind’Amour pulled out Kochetkov and put in Antti Raanta, who allowed three goals himself.
