Oilers 3, Hurricanes 1

The Carolina Hurricanes fell behind 2-0 once again, picked up speed in the third period and almost tied the game, but ended up losing to the Edmonton Oilers, 3-1 on Saturday night at the Lenovo Center.

The Canes had three powerplays in the first period alone but could generate absolutely nothing with them as they had trouble even advancing the puck into the offensive zone.

The Oilers scored a shorthanded goal to take a 1-0 lead during one of the powerplay fiascos.

In the second period, the visitors made it 2-0 with a Corey Perry goal at the doorstep.
