With Carolina Hurricanes’ netminder Antti Raanta going down with injury in Saturday’s loss to the Florida Panthers, the Canes announced Monday that Alex Lyon would be recalled from the AHL’s Chicago Wolves to backup Frederik Andersen.
Lyon has some NHL experience, with 22 games played over the past four seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers. Lyon has a 6-7-2 career record with a 3.21 GAA and .893 save percentage. He played in six games in 2020-21, going 1-3-1 with a 3.33 GAA and .893 SV %.
