Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov was named to the 2023-24 NHL All-Rookie Team Thursday evening.
Kochetkov started 40 games last season, tallying a 23-13-4 record. His 23 wins set the franchise record for a rookie goalie, and those 40 starts were the second-most among rookies this season.
His 2.33 goals against average was a rookie-best and second in the NHL.
Kochetkov tied for the rookie lead and eighth among all goalies with four shutouts. He also ranked second among rookies and tied for 13th in the league with a .911 save percentage.
The goalie’s season started off rocky with three straight losses.
