It was hard to hold back the tears while Justin Williams thanked everyone during his ceremony as he was inducted into the Hurricanes Hall of Fame.
Unfortunately, the Hurricanes did not win the game in his honor as they fell to the Los Angeles Kings, 5-2 on Monday afternoon at the PNC Arena.
The Kings jumped out to a 1-0 lead at 6:24 into the first period. The Canes tied it on a Jordan Martinook goal at 5:38 into the second.
But the third period was mostly owned by the Kings as they scored three unanswered goals to take a commanding 4-1 lead in the first five minutes and change of the period.
