It turns out there’s another member of last season’s Hurricanes that won’t be in uniform for the 2024-25 hockey season.
On Thursday Night, the Hurricanes announced that Jesper Fast will be out for the season as he had neck surgery for an injury sustained at the end of last season. The surgery was on August 6th.
Fast was checked into the boards in the regular season finale April 16th, and as is the wont of teams during the postseason Fast’s actual condition was shrouded in mystery. There was always some outside hope given that he would play during the playoffs, and during the first round series against the Islanders that hope was sustained.
