The Carolina Hurricanes did everything but score more goals than their opponent on Thursday night as they lost to the New York Islanders, 5-4 in overtime at the PNC Arena.
It was the first overtime loss of the season for Carolina, who had won 10 straight games that went to extra time, previously.
The game was an exciting one and even though the home team outshot the visitors 43-16 (shots on goal), they came out on the short end where it counted, on the scoreboard.
The Canes also missed the net on shots 22 times and had 31 shots blocked for a total of 96 total shots attempted.
