The Carolina Hurricanes just released a press release announcing the trade of Jake Guentzel to Tampa Bay for a third round draft pick.
A couple of days ago, there was a rumor from NHL “insiders” that the two sides were all but signed, but Tampa threw a wrench in the works and apparently upped the ante.
The good news is that the organization still has Ty Smith.
