RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team will assign six players to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Hurricanes won back-to-back exhibition games this weekend, defeating the New York Islanders on Saturday in Halifax, Nova Scotia and the Ottawa Senators on Sunday in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
Defenseman Trevor Carrick and forwards Brendan Woods, Sergey Tolchinsky and Phil Di Guiseppe have been assigned to Charlotte’s training camp, which opens on Tuesday.
