Hurricanes Suffer Lopsided 6-2 Loss to Wild

Coming off of a 3-2 loss to the Jets on Sunday, the Carolina Hurricanes needed to collect some points on Tuesday night in Minnesota in order to keep pace in the wild card race.

The Canes failed to win on the road and, in the process, added to their lengthy list of lopsided losses this season, falling to the Wild by a score of 6-2.

The first period was, by and large, an even back-and-forth affair. Carolina pushed the tempo on offense and managed to create a plethora of opportunities, but Devan Dubnyk was phenomenal in net and Minnesota’s offense came through as former Canes captain Eric Staal made it 1-0 less than five minutes into the game.
