Ever since it was formally announced in February 2020 that the Hurricanes would host an NHL Stadium Series Game at Carter-Finley Stadium, Canes fans have been highly anticipating the event. It seems they’re going to have to wait a good bit longer.
After the game was postponed from its originally scheduled date of Feb. 20, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was expected that the game would be held during the 2021-22 season instead. This will not be the case.
During a media availability with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly ahead of game one of the Stanley Cup Final, the NHL’s list of events for next year was conspicuously absent.
