Hurricanes Sign Jeremy Helvig to Entry-Level Contract

The Carolina Hurricanes have announced the signing of 2016 fifth-round draft pick, goaltender Jeremy Helvig, to a three-year, entry-level contract. The deal will start next season (2018-19) and run through the 2020-21 season.

Helvig is nearing the end of his junior hockey career with the OHL’s Kingston Frontenacs. He and his team are in the midst of their first-round playoff matchup with the North Bay Battalion.

2017-18 was Helvig’s best statistical season as a full-time starter. In 56 games, he posted a .916 save percentage to go with a 2.68 goals against average.
