RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Joakim Nordstrom from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Nordstrom was assigned to Charlotte on Thursday for a conditioning stint, and played in the Checkers’ two games on Saturday and Sunday. He scored Charlotte’s second goal in the team’s 3-2 win on Sunday against Manitoba.
Nordstrom, 23, played in the Hurricanes’ first three games of the season before missing the last 11 due to a lower-body injury.
