RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Derek Ryan from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Ryan, 29, made his NHL debut with the Hurricanes on March 1 at New Jersey, and has netted two goals in five games for Carolina this season. The Spokane, WA, native leads all Checkers skaters in goals (23) and points (55) in 70 games played, ranking tied for 11th in the AHL in scoring.
