Turns out Scott Darling’s AHL stint was a quick one. Less than two weeks after he was waived and reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers, the Canes announced they have recalled Darling Sunday.
The injury to Curtis McElhinney and reassignment of Alex Nedeljkovic left Carolina needing a goalie to pair with Petr Mrazek, who has put up two strong performances since returning from injury.
After he put up a 2-4-1 record with a 3.14 goals-against average and .892 save percentage to start the season at the NHL level, the Canes placed Darling on waivers and sent him to the Checkers.
