RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has signed goaltender Drew MacIntyre to a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will pay MacIntyre $600,000 at the NHL level, or $250,000 at the American Hockey League level in 2015-16.
MacIntyre, 31, posted a 20-26-5 record, a 2.84 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage in 51 games last season with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers. His 51 games played, 2,936 minutes played and 1,474 saves made in 2014-15 were all single-season records for a goaltender in Checkers history.
